Vacuum Metallizing

Vacuum metallizing is a process that applies a thin, reflective metallic coating onto a substrate (such as plastic, glass, or metal). It involves vaporizing aluminium metal inside a vacuum chamber so that the metal atoms condense evenly over the object's surface.

There are two types of vacuum metallizing used in the industry – UV metallizing and Thermal metallizing.

UV metallizing is an advanced surface finishing process that applies a thin, reflective metallic layer to plastics, glass, or ceramics using physical vapor deposition (PVD) and ultraviolet (UV) light curing.

Thermal metallizing is a vacuum coating process where molten or semi-molten metal (like zinc or aluminium) is sprayed onto a prepared surface to create a durable, protective metal-like appearance.

Vacuum metallizing offers a sustainable and versatile alternative to conventional electroplating. The process uses fewer hazardous chemicals and toxic emissions, making it a more environmentally friendly manufacturing solution. It also provides the flexibility to achieve a wide range of premium metallic and coloured finishes, while being compatible with various substrate materials, including plastics, glass, and metals.
